Game 8, Leko pushed 1.e4 and the players debated the Petrov:
Nimzovich attack Defense. The game was drawn in 40 moves. The final position
was a minor piece endgame with 6 pawns on the board for both sides.
Leko had the bishop pair but prospects for winning were slim.
Even though the match was drawn 4-4, this was an exciting match, at least
the first 6 games. Adams has to be a little disappointed after taking a
commanding 3-0 lead. I think Leko feels vindicated by just tying the match,
especially after the awful start. The turning point of this match, was Leko
win in game 5 with black. Adams couldn't regroup and hold on to his lead.
Adams will now take on Hydra in another man vs. machine matches.
