Hangin's Advice to Garry Kasparov

11/18/2003 - Garry had an easy time with X3D Fritz, He must guard against a let down. He must maintain a high sense of  danger and avoid any slips.

Gary, should follow World Champions Vladimir Kramnik's strategy that was used against Deep Fritz in Bahrain last year. Take the queens off the board and get the beast in a strategic endgame, possibly take advantage of the horizon effect. Vladimir was able to win both of his games with this strategy. X3D Fritz is only looking 1/3 deeper since Bahrain. (3million positions a sec in Bahrain, 3.9 million per sec in New York City).

In game one against  X3D Fritz, Garry left the queens on the board and did not want to press home his positional advantage because of king safety.

I game two against X3D Fritz, Garry left the queens on the board and ran into time pressure, it was the queen who played the important roll in the tactical shot the Garry missed. I think that Garry is running into time pressure because he has to check out all the dangerous tactical possibilities.

Since the queen is the most tactical piece, lets take it off the board. Lets reduce the tactical possibilities, and this should reduce the amount of time pressure Garry is getting into. Then take X3D Fritz to an endgame.
