Leko and Adams coast to the finish line

6/5/2005 - After 6 games and 6 decisive results, today's games end in draws.

Game 7, Adams pushed 1.e4 and the players debated the Sicilian Defense. The game was drawn in 24 moves.

Game 8, Leko pushed 1.e4 and the players debated the  Petrov: Nimzovich attack Defense. The game was drawn in 40 moves. The final position was a minor piece endgame with 6 pawns on the board for both sides.  Leko had the bishop pair but prospects for winning were slim.

Even though the match was drawn 4-4, this was an exciting match, at least the first 6 games. Adams has to be a little disappointed after taking a commanding 3-0 lead. I think Leko feels vindicated by just tying the match, especially after the awful start. The turning point of this match, was Leko win in game 5 with black. Adams couldn't regroup and hold on to his lead.

Adams will now take on Hydra in another man vs. machine matches.
